Doulton Ceramic Water Filters brings its heritage
and expertise in the field of drinking water treatment to the domestic home
with the Doulton HIP, under sink water filter.
The ceramic shell exhibits a strictly controlled pore structure, so as to provide
efficient sub-micron filtration, a proven defence against hard shelled parasites
such as Cryptosporodium as well as removing other less harmful, but equally
unpleasant particulate debris, such as rust and dirt. This physical ceramic
barrier, also has stabilized silver, bonded to the ceramic in a unique process,
which inhibits the multiplication of the bacteria within this portion of the
filter and therefore eliminates the need for regular sterilization of the element.
The physical properties of the ceramic are controlled, to enable flow to be
restored by simple cleaning, if the surface becomes blocked with contaminants.
At the heart of the filter cartridge, is a high density activated carbon core,
that aids in the removal of chlorine and other odors and improves the taste
of the purified water for up to 600 gallons. The inclusion of a Heavy Metal
Removing Compound gives the Ultracarb cartridge the additional benefit of reducing
virtually all the Lead, a toxic heavy metal, that can leach into the water supply
system from such sources as old mains, pipes and household plumbing.
Supplied with first cartridge, a chrome dedicated faucet,
all the necessary brackets, tubing and fittings necessary for a standard under
sink installation. May also be connected to feed an icemaker or other water
using appliances.
